Why ask Ralf Brookes to be a speaker at your Conference? |
As a speaker or panelist, I can provide another point of
view or perspective based on my experience and offer practical insight
into current issues at your seminar, conference or special event.
You will likely hear things from me during my presentation that
are different from other speakers, in part because I have represented
public interest organizations and local governments.

I will be speaking on the University of Florida's 2010 Conference panel on Friday February 26, 2010:
MiniCities and MegaCities: Incorporating Sustainability into Comprehensive Planning (Local Land Use) • Ralf Brookes, Consulting Environmental & Land Use Counsel
http://www.law.ufl.edu/piec/pdf/PIEC_program_2010.pdf
"In
an era of rapid urbanization, comprehensive land use planning plays an
increasingly important role in minimizing environmental impacts. The
comprehensive planning process allows communities to identify
sustainability goals and approaches with respect to transportation,
housing, recreation, infrastructure and other growth-related issues.
Strategies may vary depending on context, but Florida’s planning
mandates are often one size fits all. Panelists will share their
experiences incorporating sustainability into the local policies of both minicities
and megacities, from a town of seven residents to a metropolitan region
of over one million."

As a speaker, I can offer unique perspectives on both local government and public interest positions and objectives and offer counterpoints on today's local government and land use law issues.
